ABA THERAPY

Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the leading approach to creating significant positive behavior change for autistic kids and their families, beginning with a comprehensive ABA assessment to customize the treatment plan for each individualABA therapy involves direct observation, measurement, and functional analysis of the relationship between behavior and the environment.

At both Cedar Park and South Austin locations, our kids receive daily one-on-one therapy sessions from Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), carefully supervised by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Our BCBAs have one of the lowest caseloads in Austin, which means every one of our kids gets the attention they need.

We use a variety of ABA techniques when addressing the individual needs of our children that include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural Environment Training (NET)

  • Discrete Trial Training (DTT)

  • Happy, Relaxed, Engaged (HRE)

  • Assent-Based Care

  • Trauma-Informed Care

Early Learning Academy & Big Kid Academy

The Early Learning Academy marks the beginning of the ABA journey for our youngest learners. Through early intervention, we prioritize the development of essential language, cognitive, and play skills; key aspects of ABA therapy for autism.

After completing this program, our children have the option to continue with us in our Big Kid Academy. With a strong foundation in place, we have created an environment brimming with opportunities to extend these skills to school and community contexts. This program places significant emphasis on enhancing functional independence and self-management skills, enabling students to thrive in diverse environments. Additionally, it serves as a transition point for children who have outgrown our Early Learning Academy, gradually reducing support and preparing them for integration into less restrictive school and community settings.

Our approach in these programs is tailored to the specific needs of each child, family, and situation. This may encompass various aspects related to:

Early Learning Academy

  • Functional language

  • Age-appropriate play skills

  • Social interactions

  • Responding to instructions

  • Learning how to learn

  • Emotional regulation

  • Adaptive living routines and toileting

Big Kid Academy

  • Classroom program

  • Cooperative play

  • Social skills

  • Functional independence

  • Decision-making

  • Self-management

  • Life skills and routines
