DANIELLE SKALA
Senior Clinical Director
M.Ed., BCBA, LBA
Danielle has been working with children and adults on the autism spectrum for more than 18 years. She earned her Master of Education in Special Education with emphasis in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis from Texas State University in 2015. During her time as a BCBA she has provided services in homes, treatment centers, public schools, and private schools. Before entering the world of clinical ABA, Danielle worked as a Functional Communication Teacher for Round Rock ISD, during which time she was selected as Teacher of the Year and nominated for a national LifeChanger of the Year award. Danielle’s greatest passion is helping individuals find their voice. Opening up the world to them: allowing them to express their wants and needs, share their thoughts and feelings, self-advocate, and meaningfully connect to all those around them. Danielle’s time in the school setting gives her knowledge and experience in the skills children need to thrive in the educational environment and the social skills needed to form true friendships with their peers. One of Danielle’s proudest accomplishments within the school system was setting up a program of reverse inclusion and training more than 100 peers per year to implement social skills groups, be peer mentors, and act as student advocates, focusing on respect, understanding, and compassion. Danielle believes in incorporating science, cooking, art, music, dance, drama, and play into all learning activities, because when kids are playing, kids are learning. When not in the clinic, Danielle enjoys spending her free time with her two sons, Roland and Rhys, and her husband, Charlie. Danielle also loves Pilates, dancing, singing, and crafting.

LAUREN ELGIN
Director of Speech and Language Therapy & Co-Founder of CoLlab Pediatric Therapies
M.S., CCC-SLP
Lauren Elgin, originally from Simmesport, Louisiana has been a speech-language pathologist for almost 20 years, specializing in pediatrics. Upon graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Lauren moved to Houston and worked at an outpatient multidisciplinary clinic with OT, PT, ST, and Social Work. In this setting Lauren was able to gain experience treating a wide variety of ages, diagnoses, and areas of focus including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, failure to thrive, speech and language delays, fluency, literacy skills delays, Angelman’s Syndrome, feeding disorders, and autism. Particularly drawn to the autistic population, Lauren worked closely with the OT, PT, and Social Work team. Being new in the field, she began to research ABA and quickly identified the need to integrate that into her therapy practice as much as possible and discovered all of the similarities and overlaps that the two disciplines share. As Lauren's journey continued, she continued to feel a drive to work alongside BCBAs and ABA teams and collaborate under the same roof. Fast forward to 2013, Lauren moved to Austin and was able to connect with a new ABA company that was looking to add ST to its service delivery model. Lauren was able to build a caseload, work with the BCBAs on scheduling, provide staff training and support related to augmentative and alternative communication, conduct in-service training for staff and families, and began her mission to cultivate a culture of collaboration across disciplines. Across the next 5 years, Lauren was able to work with some amazing clinicians and truly see collaboration in action. Lauren is a passionate believer in the power of collaboration, learning from what each unique professional brings to the team, and to integrated care for each family she serves. We can do anything, together!
